The Town of Becket encourages residents to participate in Household Hazardous Waste Collection events, which are typically held in the spring and fall. These collections are free to participants; however, advance registration is required.
Proper disposal of household hazardous waste is extremely important to help protect our environment, groundwater, wildlife, and public health. Items such as paints, chemicals, pesticides, solvents, cleaners, and other hazardous materials should never be disposed of in regular household trash or poured onto the ground or into drains.
Residents who are unable to wait until Becket’s next scheduled collection event may wish to explore the household hazardous waste disposal option available in Westfield. Veolia HHW drop-off site in Westfield (fee-based and residents must pay).
