Dog Licenses
In accordance with the provisions of Section 137 of Chapter 140 of the General Laws, all dogs housed within the Town of Becket must be registered.
In order to license your dog(s) we will need:
- A completed Dog License Application form filled out with your dog’s information with:
- A copy of a valid rabies certificate & certificate of spaying/neutering ATTACHED to the Dog License Request form.
- A fee of $11 per dog if your dog has not been spayed or neutered
- A fee of $5 per dog for a spayed or neutered dog
- A self-addressed stamped envelope
Please complete the Dog License Application form with a copy of a valid rabies certificate(s) & certificate(s) of spaying/neutering ATTACHED and include your payment and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Checks should be made payable to the Town of Becket. Mail to:

We will mail the tag(s) back to you as soon as possible or if it is more convenient for you, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office (413-623-8934 ext. 111) to arrange to pickup your dog tag(s).
Dog licenses are valid for one year (April 1 to March 31).
- Licenses must be renewed by April 15 to avoid a late fee.
- A late fee of $5.00 per dog will be charged for late renewals after April 15.
- A late fee of $10.00 per dog will be charged for late renewals after June 15.
If you no longer own a dog that you had licensed in the previous year, please notify the Town Clerk's Office (413-623-8934 ext. 111) so that we can update our records.
