State Election Minutes 11/4/08

Pursuant to the foregoing warrant, the State Election was held in the Becket Town Hall, 557 Main Street, on November 4, 2008.  The polling hours were 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Prior to the polls opening, the Ballot Box was publicly opened, examined and found to be empty; the register was set at zero.  The results of the election are as follows:

A total of 959 votes were cast.  There were 95 absentee ballots, 1 Provisional ballot, 1 Partial Provisional ballot (per House Bill 5121), 22 spoiled ballots, and 2 Specially Qualified voters.  The AutoMARK voter assist terminal was tested at 8:53 a.m. and 3:40 p.m.  Election Officials were Dorothy Bellavance, Eva Bonney (Clerk), Joyce Brownhill, Claire Daigle, Chuck Garman, Beverly Gillette, Ann Krawet, Gale LaBelle (Warden), Blanche Lennington, Priscilla McEwen and Al Trivers (Clerk).  The Constable was Michael Sawyer.  The polls closed at 8:00 p.m. and the unofficial results were printed and posted.
