Approved Meeting Minutes
Wednesday , November 12th , 2008
Planning Board Members Present: Gale LaBelle; Chairperson , Martin Schlanger ; Clerk, Ann Krawet, Stanley Oransky.
Planning Board Members Absent: Robert Podolski.
Members of the Public Present: None
Meeting called to order: 7:00 pm.
Public Participation: None
Review and Acceptance of Meeting Minutes from October 15th, 2008 meeting. Mr. Martin Schlanger makes a motion to accept minutes as presented. Ms. Ann Krawet seconds motion. Unanimous Approval.

New Business:
Ms. LaBelle explains to the board members present that planning board is still in need of an alternate member. Secretary informs Ms. LaBelle that planning board does have a letter of interest from Ms. Barbara Stuhlman. Ms. Krawet suggests that maybe an advertisement be placed on the Town Web site, asking interested parties to please submit a letter. Board members present agree that this is a good idea.
Ms. Krawet explains that she has found a discrepancy in the wording of Zoning Bylaw section 9.2; Special permit. Ms. Krawet reads from her planning board handbook, advising the conflict pertaining to open land and the roadways going through the open land. Planning board members briefly discuss. Ms. LaBelle advises that it is quite possible that when the Attorney General reviews the amendments, he too also may see this conflict and this may result in altering the amendment. Ms. LaBelle requests that a copy of this section please be sent to Mr. Tom Matusko at Berkshire Regional Planning for his suggestions.
Board members briefly discuss the issue of clear cutting and how it pertains to the town. Mr. Oransky questions if the town can have more restrictive covenants than the state if the state is silent about it. At this point, Mr. Richard Furlong joins the meeting and tries to answer some of the board members questions.
Board members suggest that maybe going to town meeting to propose something more restrictive through the bylaws may be a good idea.
